Maria
|
When Meg saw Ben looking at the picture of Maria, he said that it's nothing. She asked him why he was looking at it for such a long time if it was nothing. Meg explained to Sara that she and Ben were about to give Maria's personal effects back to her. Sara told Ben that Meg just was trying not to show how much this bothered her, and Ben responded that he and Meg weren't helping Maria only for her sake. He said that they're trying to help her so that she will be able to grant him a divorce. Sara reminded him that he didn't want to let Meg get hurt by this. Meg and Sara left to take Maria's things to her. Carmen came in when Maria was trying on the wedding dress. Carmen insisted that the wedding dress would help her remember, despite the fact that Maria said that it didn't make any difference. Carmen started pressuring Maria, and she left. Meg and Sara arrived. When Carmen told them that Maria had left, Meg assumed, correctly, that Carmen did something to frighten her. Carmen avoided the blame by saying that it will all be Meg's fault if anything happens to Maria. While trying to avoid costumed partygoers, Maria ran into Ben on the pier. |

AJ and Olivia got ready for the party -
dressed as Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara. Olivia said that Annie will
be the life of the party wearing the ruby necklace. AJ wondered if she
would be so fond of the necklace if she knew that the rubies are supposed
to have special powers. He told her that he didn't believe it. AJ professed
his love for Olivia, but ruined the mood when he said that he wants to
find the same kind of love that Caitlin and Cole have. When they heard someone knocking at the door, the kids hid. The visitor was Hillary, who went into Bernie's office, leaving the door open. She told the back of his chair that "it's" happening to her, too, now, and said that she was a slave to the gems. The kids overheard everything that Hillary said. Hillary turned the chair around. When she saw Bernie, she screamed. Saying that it will be just a matter of time until she ends up like Bernie, Hillary left. The kids asked the back of Bernie's chair if Amy can stay over at Emily's for the night, but he didn't respond, so they turned the chair around and saw that Bernie has been mummified. Cole convinced Caitlin that it wouldn't be a good idea for her to wear the necklace to the party. She asked him to help her with it, but he got a shock when he touched it. He suggested that maybe it was just his subconscious bothering him. He took the necklace off, and Caitlin asked him to put the necklace back in the safe. He wouldn't let her give him the combination, so she opened the safe and left him alone. While Cole was putting the necklace back, Gregory and Annie caught him. Caitlin explained that she had tried on the necklace, and that Cole was just putting it back. She said that if they can't trust Cole, she, Cole and Trey will move out after the party. Olivia and Annie discuss how to get Cole to try stealing the necklace. Caitlin told AJ that Cole got a shock when he touched the necklace. Hillary arrived wearing a witch's costume. Francesca arrived in her nun costume. There were several (as in at least two) other nuns at the party. Cole cornered Francesca and tried to make her leave, but she wouldn't go. Caitlin saw them together. Hillary started chanting and Annie started to choke. |

Maria told Ben that she saw her wedding dress and felt compelled to put it on, then Carmen said that if she kept the dress on, it might trigger some memories, but it didn't work. Ben told Maria that the last time he saw her in that dress, he thought she was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. Ben took Maria home to warm up. When Meg offered to do anything she could to help Maria, Carmen said to stay out of Maria's life, because Maria belongs with Ben. Ben called and told Carmen that Maria's with him. Hoping that Meg would see them together, Carmen told Meg to leave immediately. Before they left, Sara told Carmen that she needed to stop living in the past. After Ben finished calling Carmen to tell her that Maria was with him, Ben insisted that she move in with him and Meg, but Maria flatly refused to move in. Ben asked her to call him whenever she's about to panic. Maria noticed a rip in her dress. Ben explained that he ripped the dress on the doorknob when he carried her over the threshold. While they were laughing over the story, Meg returned home. |

When she saw the mummy sitting in her father's
chair, Amy fainted. Leo and Sean wondered if the mummy, which was holding
a pen, could be Bernie. Written on a piece of paper in front of it was
the word "Rosario." When Amy regained consciousness, Emily assured her
that the mummy couldn't be Bernie, because the mummy looked to be a couple
of hundred years old, and they had just seen Bernie alive 20 minutes earlier.
Later, Sean also told Amy that the mummy couldn't possibly be Bernie.
The kids split up to look for Bernie, to no avail. Sean called the police,
and was told that they wouldn't be able to come over for a while, but
that they'd be there as soon as they could. They decided to call Hillary,
so they went back into Bernie's office. The box that contained Bernie's
phone book was booby-trapped. Cole told Caitlin that the woman in the
nun's costume was just a guest who got lost looking for the bathroom.
When Vanessa and Michael interrupted, Francesca had time to get away.
As soon as Gregory took off the necklace, Annie stopped choking. They
go into Gregory's study so that Annie can rest for a minute, leaving the
necklace on a table. Hillary tried to pocket it, but Olivia stopped her.
When Annie and Gregory reached the study, Cole noticed that she wasn't
wearing the necklace. Annie noticed that it was missing and wondered where
the necklace is gone, and Ricardo said that that was a good question,
saying that since they received an anonymous tip that someone would steal
the necklace and chastising Annie for leaving it alone. Olivia brought
the necklace in. Annie accused Olivia of causing her to choke, and refused
to put the necklace back on. Olivia blackmailed her into putting the necklace
back on, specifying that she wanted her to put it on in front of Cole.
Hillary's decomposition or whatever, worsened. AJ asked Cole about the
shock he got when he touched the necklace. Francesca told Cole that she
wouldn't leave until she had the rubies. Francesca and Cole noticed Hillary.
Hillary asked Annie if the necklace was hot, and Annie responded that
it was. Hillary told her that was because she touched Hell. |

When Sara berated her for being in Ben's
house in her wedding dress, Maria promised to get out of their lives once
and for all. Sara refused to believe that Maria had Meg's best interests
at heart. Sara told Maria how Carmen has been pressuring Meg. When Sara
said that Meg doesn't need any additional pressure, Maria surprised her
by saying that that was why she refused to move in. Ben asked Meg what
Carmen said to her, and Meg replied that Carmen said that Ben and Maria
belong together, and that a part of Meg was beginning to believe that
she's right. When Ben asked why she'd think that, she said that how relaxed
and happy Maria was proved that she's still in love with Ben. Meg said
that Maria needs to move in and Ben tried to talk her out of it. She told
him that her own happiness is at stake, because the sooner Maria gets
well, the sooner she can sign the divorce papers. Ben told Maria and Carmen
that Maria is going to be moving in with him and Meg, and that they wouldn't
take no for an answer. |

A knife sprang out of the box, barely missing Sean. They tried to convince
Amy that the mummy wasn't real, but when she walked over there, she
saw that that the mummy was wearing a ring that she bought for Bernie's
40th birthday, and that he had promised never to take off until the
day he died. The police hadn't come by yet, so rather than calling them
again, the kids decided to go to the police station. Hillary told Annie
that if she gives the necklace to her, she'll be doing herself a big
favor. Ricardo told Gregory that the tip was just a little too convenient,
and he suspected that Cole was set up - possibly by Gregory himself.
Gregory insisted that he didn't set Cole up. Annie took Cole aside to
apologize for accusing him of trying to steal her necklace. She then
said that she's going to have to donate the necklace to a museum unless
he can think of something else. Hillary offered to buy the necklace
from Annie for a million dollars. Caitlin propositioned Cole, but he
told her that he couldn't leave right then. Caitlin appealed to Olivia
to convince Cole that it would be acceptable for them to leave, but
Olivia said that she thought that they should stay. Caitlin told Olivia
that Cole had been desperate to get away from her all evening. Annie
accepted Hillary's offer, and Hillary left to get the money. On her
way out, Cole stopped her. Hillary told Cole that she didn't need the
sapphires or emeralds anymore. Gregory and Olivia reminisced about their
very first Halloween party. Thinking she's Bette, Caitlin approached
Francesca, and realized that Francesca was the nun that Cole had been
talking to in the study. Francesca told Caitlin that she wanted to start
things up again with Cole, but that he loves Caitlin and only Caitlin,
and that she just came to the party to say good-bye to Cole. Just as
Hillary was about to pay Annie for the necklace, the lights went out.
Amy told the others that her father was really great when her mom first
left, but that lately he had been acting really weird. The kids updated
Ricardo on what happened, and Ricardo decided to take them back to the
house. When Ricardo and the kids arrived, they found that the mummy
was gone, and Bernie's clothes, the ring and the pen were left behind. |

Sara didn't approve of Meg's decision to let Maria move in with her and Ben. Sara pointed out all the reasons why it wasn't a good idea, but Meg was determined. Meanwhile, Carmen wasn't pleased with the notion, either, but Ben tried to convince Maria. When Maria refused, Ben returned home to Meg. Once they began to enjoy their moment alone, Maria showed up. She took them up on their offer and decided to move in! |

Ricardo/Gabi/Antonio

At Surf Central, Gabi confronted Antonio about his strange behavior. Antonio conceded she was right and apologized. He offered to help her with Ricardo's surprise party. They started getting along again, and later Antonio was plagued by his dreams of her. |

The mummy was gone! Ricardo discovered the note, though, and was baffled. His only explanation was that this was someone's idea of a sick practical joke. Later, the gang heard something in the study, and went to investigate. Amy was sure it was her father, but who was it? The lights went out at the party, then quickly turned back on. But Annie's necklace was gone!Annie, Gregory and Olivia accused Cole of having sticky fingers, but Caitlin stood by her man, as did AJ. Gregory wanted to have Cole searched, but he refused. Ricardo was called in, and he forced Cole to be searched. A gold necklace was discovered on Cole, but he explained it was a gift he bought for Caitlin. While Ricardo decided to check all the guests, Francesca headed home with the infamous necklace. Francesca took the jewels out of the necklace -- and her mirror shattered! Meanwhile, Caitlin informed her stunned husband that she knew he and Francesca lifted the necklace! |

Maria
|
Maria realized that Ben and Meg had changed
their minds, but they assured her that they hadn't changed their minds
and welcomed her in. They told her that they were just surprised to see
her because they thought that she had made her mind up not to move in
with them. Ben took Maria up to the studio. Meg remembered Sara's parting
words, that once Maria moved in, she may never move out again. Ben told
Meg how grateful he was that she was so good about Maria staying with
them. She responded that she has her own agenda - the sooner Maria remembers,
the sooner they can be married. Maria walked in on Ben and Meg kissing.
She tried to leave unobtrusively, but stumbled on her way back up the
stairs, and they heard her. She said that she came downstairs because
she wanted to take a shower, but there were no towels. Meg went to help
Maria, saying that they may not have any privacy now, but they have the
rest of their lives to be together. |

Sara & Casey
|
Sara walked into the back yard, where she
saw Casey asleep on the swing. She kneeled down next to him, and he woke
up. They spent a romantic moment on the swing, but it ended when Sara
told him that she can't believe that she's with Casey sometimes, and she's
afraid of screwing things up. He told her that she won't screw things
up, because when he kisses her, his whole life is perfect. |

Olivia realized that they didn't have to
catch Cole stealing the necklace, they just had to make Caitlin think
that Cole stole the necklace. When Cole was unable to convince Caitlin
that he didn't steal the necklace, Caitlin decided to turn Cole in, but
changed her mind at the last minute. She told Ricardo that she needed
to leave, but he told her that she couldn't until she was searched, too.
Bette cornered Annie to get her to admit that she arranged the theft of
the necklace. Annie suggested to Ricardo that Francesca might have the
necklace. Gregory told Annie that he knew that she was trying to engineer
Cole's downfall and asked her to fill him in on her plan. Olivia asked
AJ about the curse on the necklace, and he assured her that it wasn't
a curse -- just bad luck. However, he doesn't necessarily believe it himself
after watching Annie choke while wearing it. After the mirror in her room
spontaneously broke, Francesca heard the chanting. Ricardo arrived, but
Francesca had already left. Ricardo noticed that the mirror was broken.
When she and Sean went into Bernie's study to investigate a noise they
heard, Amy noticed that a book that Bernie was always reading was on the
floor. When they left for Olivia's house, Amy brought the book with her.
They left, and Hillary came out of her hiding place, vowing to find the
jewels. She tore the room apart looking for "it." When the phone rang,
she answered it, and heard the voices chanting again. Hillary decided
to hurt Caitlin to get the jewels away from Cole. Bette arrived while
Amy was asking Emily not to tell her mother about Bernie turning into
a mummy. When Bette asked what Amy didn't want her to know, they told
her that she just didn't' want her to know that she was spending the night.
Bette didn't buy it, so they told her that Bernie wasn't home, and that
it makes Amy nervous to spend the night in an empty house. Amy opened
up the book. The title was "Curses and Legends." Caitlin told Cole that
everyone told her that he was stealing again, and that he was with Francesca
every time he disappeared, and now she believed it. She told him that
she was through defending him. Cole asked if Caitlin has ever heard of
lying for the right reasons, and said that he thought that he was lying
for the right reasons. She asked him to tell her that he hasn't been stealing
jewels with Francesca, and went on to say that she saw Francesca bump
into him, then how he caused a distraction so that she could sneak out
unnoticed. She asked him to deny it, but he can't. She told him not to
come home. Cole decided to get Francesca to give back the jewels so that
he can have Caitlin back. Annie denied setting Cole up. Olivia brought
Trey downstairs, so that she and Trey are the first thing Caitlin saw
when she returned home. Caitlin told the others that Cole wouldn't be
coming home. |

Ricardo/Gabi/Antonio
|
Gabi walked in when Antonio was telling the contractor that there's someone in his home that he can't live with anymore. She asked him why he was moving out, and he said that it was just because he's supposed to be at the mission. Gabi told Ricardo about her concerns that she has done something to alienate Antonio. After she left the room, Ricardo asked Antonio why he has been giving Gabi a hard time. |

Bette overheard the kids talking about the
mummy in Bernie's clothes. Amy asked Bette not to tell anyone about the
mummy. When Ricardo arrived to tell Amy that there had been no further
developments in the search for her father, Olivia asked Ricardo for the
latest on the search for the rubies. Cole told Caitlin that he needed
to speak with her, but she refused to listen to him. She left, and Cole
followed her. They were being stalked by Hillary, who had a gun. Gregory
gloated to Olivia that Caitlin and Cole were about to break up, and he
didn't have to do anything to cause it. Caitlin finally got Cole to admit
that he helped Francesca steal the necklace. When he told her that he
went along with Francesca because she owed it to God for saving his life,
she asked him if he ever stopped to think that maybe God answered Caitlin's
prayer to save his life, not Francesca's. He said that her prayers were
just as important to him as Francesca's were, but that he didn't think
that she'd want him to help Francesca, no matter how selfless his motives
were. When Caitlin said that she was still considering turning him in
to the police, he told her that losing her would be more punishment than
he could stand, and vowed that nothing like this would ever happen again,
and asked her to leave town with him. She agreed, and Cole returned to
the Richards House for Trey and their things. Gregory left the room for
a moment, and Cole arrived to take Trey away with him. He told Olivia
that Caitlin forgave him and that they were leaving town together. Olivia
blurts out that Caitlin wasn't supposed to forgive him. |

Olivia admitted that she set Cole up, but
she told him that she did it for Trey. Olivia lost her temper and said
that Cole's not the type of person who should be with her daughter --
or with her son. Cole assumed that her slip was evidence that she hadn't
gotten over the loss of her baby yet. Olivia was on her way to denounce
him to Caitlin, but Cole stopped her and told her that he, Caitlin and
Trey were leaving town together. As he left with Trey, Olivia begged Cole
to reconsider. Olivia decided that in order to keep Trey, she was going
to have to tell Caitlin the truth. A much-older Hillary drew a gun on
Caitlin, demanding to know where the jewels are. Caitlin told Hillary
that the jewels were in her purse, then when she picked her purse up,
she hit Hillary with it, disarming her. The two women struggled, and Hillary
got the gun back. Hillary took Caitlin from the room at gunpoint. Hillary
decided that the diamonds must be in Caitlin's wedding ring. When the
ring didn't come off, Hillary threatened to cut Caitlin's finger off to
get it. |
|
Annie & Gregory
|
Gregory arrived on the doorstep, carrying
flowers. He fantasized about a passionate reunion with Olivia, but his
fantasies came to an abrupt end when Annie answered the door. Annie assumed
that the flowers were for Olivia, so Gregory told her that the flowers
were to congratulate Bette for winning a journalism award. When Annie
demanded proof, he showed her the card. Annie asked Gregory to look her
in the eye and tell her that he's not in love with Olivia. He couldn't
do it, so she told him that she needs him to love her. He told her that
he can't love her yet. |
|
Ricardo/Gabi/Antonio
|
Ricardo told Antonio that Gabi overheard
him on the phone. Antonio explained to Ricardo, and later to Gabi, that
the only reason he wanted to move out was because he felt like he was
ignoring his duty to his parish. When Gabi and Ricardo go for a walk,
Carmen arrived and told Antonio that Gabi and Ricardo won't be together
much longer. Ricardo gave Gabi the necklace from Carmen, and they professed
their love for each other. Carmen told Antonio that she saw in the Tarot
cards that another man would be entering Ricardo and Gabi's relationship,
and that Ricardo will be left by the wayside. Just as Antonio lost his
temper at Carmen, Ricardo and Gabi return. |

Ricardo/Gabi/Antonio

Ricardo asked Antonio why he lost his temper
with Carmen, and Antonio said that it was difficult to see why she put
so much faith in the cards, rather than in God. Gabi thanked Carmen for
the necklace and told her that it's beautiful because it came from her.
Carmen told her sons that Maria moved in with Ben and Meg. Antonio and
Ricardo decided to speak to Ben. Carmen told Antonio that she would continue
to read the cards to find out what she can about the other man in Gabi's
life. |

Maria
|
Hank, Joan and Sara brought breakfast to
Ben and Meg and were surprised when Maria answered the door. Maria explained
that Dr. Estrada wanted her to move in with Ben and Meg because it would
be the fastest way to help her get better. Meg reflected on the events
that brought Maria to live with them. Ben reassured Meg that they'll get
through this. He told her that he's never met anyone like her before,
to which she replied that she thought he has met someone like her and
that her name is Maria. Meg listed all of the ways in which she and Maria
are similar. Ben told Meg that he will love her until his dying breath.
Ben and Meg returned. Maria walked in while Hank was asking Ben why he
was putting Meg through this. Meg took her parents and sister aside to
talk to them. Ben told Maria to go upstairs and he'd be by to talk to
her later. Maria told Ben that she doesn't belong in his house, and Ricardo,
who just walked in, said that he agreed. The two families began squabbling,
and Meg asked her family to leave. Ben tried to get the Torreses to leave,
also, but Ricardo refused to go, deciding, instead, to convince Maria
to go home with Carmen, to be with people who love her. Maria responded
that they keep saying that they love her, but they don't make any attempt
to understand her, and asked them why they keep hurting her. Ben took
the Torreses out, and Maria apologized to Meg, but it doesn't help. |

Caitlin was gone when Cole gets back. Olivia
arrived, and Cole accused her of lying to Caitlin and driving her away.
Caitlin saved her finger by suggesting that Hillary might scratch the
diamonds with the knife. Hillary finally wrenched the ring from Caitlin's
finger and chanted over it, which didn't work, so Hillary decided to hold
Caitlin hostage. At first, Caitlin refused to give Cole's cell phone number
to Hillary, but she gave in when Hillary threatened to kidnap Trey. Cole
got the phone call from Caitlin. At the last second, she told him to protect
himself and Trey, rather than giving Hillary's ransom demands. Hillary
took the phone and gave Cole an ultimatum. |

Vanessa's Baby

When Vanessa told her that she'd been having dizzy spells lately, Gabi convinced Vanessa that she might be pregnant, and went out to buy a pregnancy test. When she returned, Vanessa told Gabi about Michael's sterility, to which Gabi replied that people beat the odds all the time, and that she could be pregnant anyhow. Vanessa decided to take the pregnancy test. |

| Annie told Ricardo that she wants her necklace
back -- now. Ricardo refused to make investigating the theft a priority
because he was still angry at Annie for keeping the truth from Maria.
Annie tried, unsuccessfully, to convince Ricardo that she had Maria's
best interest at heart. Annie overheard Carmen telling Ricardo that it
was the best thing for Maria to move in with Ben and Meg. She said that
it must have been Meg's idea to let her move in with them, declared that
she was going to get her best friend back and stormed out. Carmen told
Ricardo that Maria moving in with him and Meg would be the best way to
get Ben and Maria back together. Ricardo tried to explain that it may
not be the best thing for Maria and Ben to get back together, but his
argument fell on deaf ears. Maria told Ben that Meg allowed her to move
in for Ben's sake, and that she thought that Meg had changed her mind.
Ben asked Meg what happened when she and Maria were alone in the house.
Meg responded that she had been so upset, between the confrontations with
her parents and Maria's family, that when Maria approached Meg for reassurance,
she couldn't give it to her. Ben offered to explain to Maria. Meg said
that she wanted to see if her family was all right after their confrontation
with the Torreses. Hank and Joan walked in on them while Sara and Casey
are kissing. The Cummingses told Casey that Maria has moved in with Ben
and Meg. Meg overheard them telling him that they thought that she'd made
a mistake, and tried to explain why she allowed Maria to move in with
her. When they didn't listen to her, she lost her temper and left. Casey
followed her. Ben told Maria that he and Meg were sure that this was what
was best for her, and she replied that maybe what was best for her wasn't
the best thing for all three of them. Maria asked him to tell her about
the night she "drowned." Ben reminded her that she was trying to remember
what happened before the night she drowned, and Maria answered that night
was her most vivid memory. She told him what she could remember about
that night -- that she was alone in the water, and then someone jumped
into the water to save her. She also knew that there was some reason she
was out there in the middle of a storm. Casey told Meg how much he admired
her for letting Maria move in with them. She asked if he'd be so impressed
if he knew that she did it for selfish reasons. She said that she only
did it because she thought that it was the only way to hang on to Ben.
Casey told Meg to trust her love for Ben, and his love for her. Sara saw
Meg giving him a grateful hug. Ben told Dr. Estrada about Maria's request,
and she told Ben that if Maria remembers on her own, she owns the memory,
but if someone tells her what to remember, she won't, and that telling
her about that night might be Maria's permanent undoing. Maria wondered
what Ben was keeping from her. Annie arrived. Maria almost shut the door
in her face, but when Annie said that she'd do anything for Maria, she
invites her in and asked Annie to tell her about the night she drowned. |

Sydney asked Francesca if she thought that
Cole would want his cut of the jewels. Francesca assured her that the
last thing Cole wanted was anything to do with the jewels. Sydney gave
Francesca her passport with the alias Mary Jane Stevenson. She asked if
she was trying to lose Cole, and Francesca replied that she couldn't lose
Cole if he wanted to find her. The alias was so that she could avoid Hillary
and Bernie. Sydney asked to see the jewels. Francesca poured them into
her hands, where they seemed to turn into spiders. Sydney was so unsettled
by this experience that she threw Francesca out and told her that she
never wanted her to come near her again or to admit that they have ever
met. Cole begged Hillary to give him more than an hour to get the jewels,
to no avail. After they hung up, Cole told Olivia that Hillary had Caitlin
and was threatening to kill her if he didn't bring her the jewels that
Francesca had, so he had to go after Francesca. Olivia said that she was
going with Cole. Hillary told Caitlin that she was dying, and if Cole
didn't get the jewels to her within an hour, she was taking Caitlin with
her. Caitlin offered Hillary doctors, hospitals, -- whatever she needed
to get well. Hillary told her that she needed the jewels. Cole asked Sydney
where Francesca was, and Sydney said that the jewels were completely evil.
She told him that everyone who came near the jewels was in danger, and
that Francesca had already left. Olivia attacked Francesca, telling her
to give her the jewels. |

While they were watching them hug, Tim told
Sara that Casey was about to throw her over for Meg. Sara noticed that
Tim was drunk. He explained that he started drinking because he lost Meg.
He told Sara that Gregory also fired him because he sold his Liberty Corporation
stock to Annie. Casey told Meg that he didn't know how any man could choose
another woman over her. Sara approached the pair. Casey asked Meg to go
out for coffee with him, telling Sara that they would have to postpone
their plans. Dr. Estrada asked Ben what happened the night that Maria
drowned, and he responded that he had accused Maria of being unfaithful
to him, and that for five years, he blamed himself for her death. Dr.
Estrada said that Maria's mind is protecting her from the memory. When
Annie refused to tell Maria the truth, Maria begged her to tell what she
knows. Annie continued to resist because the truth might push her over
the edge. Maria told Annie that it has been driving Ben, Meg and her all
crazy living together. Ben heard Annie telling Maria that she and Ben
had the worst fight of their marriage the night that she drowned, but
Maria didn't care. She asked Annie to keep talking, but Ben threw Annie
out before she could say anything. Ben told Maria that she needs to remember
on her own, and that it would be no use asking anyone else, because he's
the only person who knows what happened that night. After he left the
room, Maria decided that Meg must also know what happened that night.
Sara interrupted Casey and Meg's coffee time by bringing in Hank and Joan,
in hopes that they could clear the air. Casey asked Sara if they were
back on for that night. He told her to come by Surf Central. Annie made
sure that Meg overheard her talking about how much Ben still loves Maria.
Meg told Annie that their conversation gave her an idea how to help Maria
get her memory back. Joan chewed Annie and Tim out for everything they've
done to break up Meg and Ben. She said that if they don't leave them alone,
they'll have to answer to her. Annie said that Ben has loved Maria longer
than he's even known Meg. Joan said that Ben did love Maria, but that
he loves Meg now, and they can't break them up. When Meg arrived home,
Maria told Meg that she was starting to remember and tricked her into
telling her the name "Derek." Annie told Tim that Maria has moved in with
Ben and Meg, and that as long as no one tells her too much about the night
she drowned and overloads her mind, it's just a matter of time until Ben
and Maria get back together. |

kill Caitlin if she didn't get the jewels. Olivia got the jewels away
from Francesca and poured them into her hands, where they turned into

lied said that he had the jewels. Cole convinced her that he had them,
and she told him to meet her under the pier at sunset. Francesca took
the jewels from Olivia, who told her that maggots were all over her hand.
Cole told Francesca that he needed the jewels to save Caitlin's life.
Olivia suggested that Francesca wanted to take the jewels back to Mexico
so that Caitlin would die and Cole would be available. Cole took the jewels.
Francesca and Olivia wanted to go with him, but he told them that he would
go alone. He also sent Olivia back to keep an eye on Trey while he went
after Caitlin. Olivia asked Francesca if Cole knew anything about the
jewels, and Francesca responded that no one knows what's going on with
them. Olivia said that Cole would need Francesca's help, and that Caitlin
would need hers. The two women called a truce. Hillary said that she was
going to leave Caitlin there with a bomb -- just in case Cole double-crossed
her. She said that she can't live without the jewels, and so she stole
something that Cole he can't live without. Hillary and Cole met. |

more of a crowd, so he told her that he threw everyone out so that they
could have some privacy. Sara spilled her wine on Casey, and then the
hors d'oeuvres that Casey was heating up burned. When Casey went upstairs
to change into a dry shirt, Sara found a romance novel, and had a fantasy
about Casey sweeping her off her feet. |

Maria

When he heard Meg admit that she had similar
problems with Derek to the ones that Maria had with him, Ben stopped her
from telling any more and proved that Maria hadn't remembered anything.
Meg got angry at Maria for lying, but Maria said that she'd lie again,
if it meant that she could find out about that night. When Dr. Estrada
arrived, Meg suggested that they go to the Deep together, because she
heard that Maria did the interior design there. Dr. Estrada told Meg that
Ben and Maria should go alone because Maria now associates the house with
Meg, and her best chance of regaining her memory is in having a place
that's just hers and Ben's. Meg had misgivings, but agreed to go along
with it. Maria told Meg that she wanted to regain her memory so that she
can sign the divorce papers. Casey and Sara were necking when Meg arrived
to cry on Casey's shoulder about letting Ben go out with Maria. |

Rosario Jewels
|
Ricardo told Antonio about the kids finding
the mummy in Bernie's office and showed him the piece of paper with the
word "Rosario" written on it. Antonio replied that the Rosario mentioned
on the paper might not even be the same Rosario. After Ricardo left for
a date with Gabi, Antonio took out the picture of the Madonna. Cole demanded to see Caitlin before he gave her the jewels, telling her that he only brought one of the jewels with him. he handed one of them to her and she chanted over it, immediately making herself younger again. However, the de-aging process didn't take. Hillary told Cole that they had half an hour before it was too late. When Olivia and Francesca arrived, Hillary flipped out. She and Cole struggled, and the gun went off. Hillary was shot, died, and turned into a mummy. Cole found a key on her and they scattered. Brad ribbed Amy for paying so much attention to the book that they found in Bernie's study. Amy said that she was reading about the Rosario jewels and that she thought that her father may have fallen prey to a curse on the jewels. They didn't believe her. Emily told Sean that perhaps the time has come to pick up the pace on their relationship. When Ben and Maria arrived, everything was fine at first, but soon she started to panic. When Ben tried to calm her down, they ended up in a clench. While struggling to escape, Caitlin fell over and knocked herself out. The bomb was down to 15 seconds when Cole came to rescue Caitlin. |

Vanessa's Baby
|
Three positive tests later, Vanessa finally
decided that she must really be pregnant. Michael walked in on Vanessa
and Gabi discussing how she's going to tell Michael. Gabi was about to
make her escape when Ricardo arrived. The two women's refusal to tell
what they had been up to was frustrating to both of their boyfriends.
After they finished their Chinese takeout dinner, Vanessa asked Michael to open a particular fortune cookie, which had a fortune that said that he was going to be a father. He thought there must have been a mistake, but Vanessa told him that she put it there because she's pregnant. |

When Meg realized that Sara was there, she
apologized for interrupting, but Sara said that it was OK. Meg told Sara
and Casey the circumstances around Maria going out with Ben to the Deep.
Sara tried to convince Meg that she has a right to be more upset than
she has been about what they've gone through to help Maria. Maria told Ben that it's too difficult to remember when she's around him. Maria said that if they changed the music that she'd dance with everyone else. The music changed and she said that that was her cue. It turned out that the new song had been their song. Maria asked Ben to dance with her. In the middle of their dance, she got distracted because she saw Ricardo and Gabi arrive. Ricardo and Maria stepped aside to talk, and Maria explained that Ben was just trying to help her remember. Meanwhile, Ben explained to Gabi that he and Meg are willing to do whatever it took to help Maria. Ben and Maria left. |

Rosario Jewels

Amy and Brad found the emerald that Cole
had given Hillary as proof of his good faith. Amy noticed that the emerald
was cold to the touch, then she remembered that there were emeralds in
the book on the Rosario jewels. Cole came in, and Caitlin warned him that
there's a bomb. Cole threw the bomb outside, but was nearly killed by
the blast. Caitlin saved his life by performing CPR on him. The police
arrived to investigate the explosion and took them into the station to
speak to Ricardo. Cole told Caitlin that he would tell Ricardo that Hillary
tried to kill them while stalking him. Olivia came to find Caitlin. When
Caitlin left to call about Trey, Olivia told Cole that this whole problem
came about because of his relationship with Francesca. Olivia told Ricardo
that she knew where Hillary was. The emerald they found on the beach matched
the one in the book. She remembered that Bernie wrote the word "Rosario"
before he died. While reading the book, Amy heard a scratching noise and
got scared. Emily and Sean arrived home soon after that and Emily said
that the sound must have been her key getting stuck in the door. After
Emily went to bed, Amy looked through the book and found that the jewels
can be used to vanquish one's enemies. A very drunk Tim found Hillary's
mummy. |

Vanessa's Baby

Michael's first reaction to the news was disbelief. She told him that she double and triple-checked, and that Tyus must have made a mistake. Michael was overwhelmed with joy. Tyus and Jimmy came back from playing basketball together. When Tyus said that he wanted a family someday -- just not now, Virginia asked him if he'd feel the same way if he had a chance with Vanessa. He responded that he didn't want to talk about Vanessa, because he'll never have her. He said that he's moving to Maryland to start a new life for himself. |

Gregory brought Cole's things to his AJ's
room, telling him that Caitlin and Cole broke up over Cole's theft of
the necklace. He said that once Caitlin and Cole have gotten divorced,
he'll make sure that Cole can never see Trey again, because he didn't
want Cole to ruin another member of his family. AJ punched Gregory, and
the two men were about to fight when Caitlin called. She was calling to
talk to AJ, but Gregory answered the phone. She told him that she had
been kidnapped, but that she was fine now. Olivia told Ricardo that Hillary
was far, far from Sunset Beach, and that she had better never return,
after kidnapping Caitlin. While Cole was telling Ricardo that he had no
idea what happened to Hillary, Tim came in, saying that he found a woman's
body on the beach. Ricardo and Tim left for the beach. Olivia told Cole
that once Ricardo realizes that the mummy was Hillary, she'll have no
choice but to turn him in for killing her. When Cole apologized for putting
her into danger, Caitlin told him that they've found each other again,
and that's all that matters. Olivia realized that it'll never be over
between Caitlin and Cole. Ricardo and Tim arrive where he had left Hillary's
mummy, but it's gone. Ricardo told Tim that this is the second disappearing
mummy he's been told about. Tim swore that he told Ricardo the truth.
Ricardo found Hillary's wallet, and Ruiz found a bullet hole in her clothes.
AJ and Gregory arrived, and Caitlin and Cole updated their fathers on
what happened. Ricardo brought in a witness who said that he saw Cole
running away from the scene after he heard the shot. |

Maria
|
Just as Ben and Meg were about to make love, Maria interrupted them by screaming as she awoke from another drowning nightmare. Maria said that she had a dream that she was drowning. She was begging Ben to believe her, and the last thing she was aware of in the dream was going under. Ben told Maria that her dream wasn't a dream -- it was a memory. She asked him what she wanted him to believe, but he wouldn't tell her. Maria told Ben that before, all she could think about was how scared she was, but now all she can think about is the pain of knowing that Ben didn't trust her. When she told Ben that she wouldn't be able to sleep that night, Meg overheard Ben say that he'd stay up with her. |

When she overheard Ricardo telling AJ that
there was plenty of evidence linking Cole to Hillary's disappearance,
Gabi asked him about it, but he refused to tell her. Olivia told Cole
that she thought that Hillary was dead long before last night. She also
said that she wasn't going to turn him in, because she'd only hurt Caitlin
by doing so. She promised not to turn him in to Ricardo or to try to turn
Caitlin against him if he promised not to take Caitlin away with him.
He agreed. Ricardo brought in the evidence that they found. He said that
the blood on the clothes was Hillary's. When Caitlin came to get Cole
out, they released him, but Ricardo told him not to go too far. While
spying on Sean and Emily, Amy admired the emerald she found on the beach,
which she had made into a necklace. When Emily left, Amy moved in. She
told Sean that she felt lonely, and got Sean to invite her along with
them to the beach. Knowing that the curse will strike anyone who owns
one of the jewels, Amy gave Emily the emerald. While AJ was reading the
report about the mummy out loud, Leo heard him. Thinking he's talking
about the mummy at Bernie's house, Leo told him all about their Halloween
night experience. After Leo finished telling the story, AJ realized that
the jewels really are cursed. AJ told Leo that he didn't want him spending
any time with Amy. |

Emily refused the emerald, saying that she
hadn't done anything to deserve it, but Amy wouldn't take no for an answer.
When Emily went to look at it in the mirror, Amy tried the chanting, and
a strong wind blew up out of nowhere. Amy realized that the wind was caused
by her chanting, and continued. When Amy convinced Sean that she gave
the necklace to Emily out of kindness, he told her that he was glad that
she was getting beyond her jealousy. Amy almost told Sean that the emerald
wasn't all it seemed to be. Olivia overheard her chanting, so she told
her that she was just doing yoga. When Olivia asked Amy if she's heard
from her father recently, she decided that she needs Sean back because
if Bernie's really gone, she's completely alone. Olivia told Cole that
Bernie ended up a mummy, just like Hillary did. Cole gets a message from
Francesca to meet her. Cole asked Francesca if she got rid of Hillary's
body, which she denied. He told her that he's beginning to think that
the jewels have some kind of supernatural power, and she said that they
might. They decided that perhaps they're being punished for stealing something
sacred. Francesca was about to leave for Rosario when she noticed that
one of the emeralds was gone. Sean and Emily talked about the places he's
going to take her. While Amy was chanting, Emily started to choke. |

Meg told Maria that she's going back to
work. She was supposed to have taken a leave of absence for her honeymoon,
but her honeymoon never happened. She tried to convince Maria that she
wasn't angry at her, but Maria realized that Meg was angry because Ben
stayed up with her after her nightmare. Ben interrupted his wives' discussion.
He walked Meg outside, and she told him that it was disconcerting for
him to leave their bed to comfort Maria. After Meg left, Ben gave Maria
some money so that she could be more independent. Maria asked Ben to tell
her who they were when they were married, and he said that he couldn't
do that, but he could tell her who he is now. He said that he shut himself
off from life when she disappeared. He said that Meg gave him more than
love, she gave him his life back, and he wanted to do the same for Maria.
Ben and Maria saw Meg on the beach. Ben went to her, and Maria went to
get her memory back. Ben told Meg that he just spent half an hour telling
the wrong person how much she means to him. He should have been telling
her. Maria used the money that Ben gave her to hire a private investigator
named Pete Valente to investigate "Maria Torres Evans." |

Caitlin accused Annie of being behind the
phone calls. Annie had a fit of hilarity, then said that whoever called
Caitlin didn't know anything, and was just hoping to upset her. The next
time Caitlin's phone rang, Annie answered it and chewed out the caller.
Annie forwarded Caitlin's calls to Gregory's speaker phone so that they
could both give the caller a piece of their minds. Caitlin's phone got
another call. They answered it on the speaker phone and the voice said
"Hush, little baby, don't say a word. Papa's gonna buy you a mockingbird.
But who is papa really?" |

Brad tried to convince Amy to give up on
Sean. Bette overheard Amy telling Brad that she's going to turn Emily's
world upside down. Amy tried to convince Bette that she didn't have anything
against Emily anymore, but it didn't work. Amy fantasized about Sean leaving
Emily for her. When she realized that the emerald hadn't hurt Emily yet,
Amy decided that she wanted it back. Bette realized that the gem was a
real emerald. Amy told Emily that she realized that the emerald really
was too much, and asked for it back, but Bette wouldn't let Emily give
the emerald back. Amy got fed up and left. Another freak wind blew up. |

When Ben propositioned Meg, she told him
that she can't make love to him, because Maria's there even when she isn't.
When he asked her what she meant, she told him that he built the house
for Maria, and now that she had met his first wife, she felt surrounded
by her at all times. Meg told Ben that she knew that they needed to help
Maria, but that she couldn't be happy about it. She also admitted that
she wasn't looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner with her entire family.
While preparing for a picnic with Meg and Casey, Sara found a gift-wrapped
box in Casey's bag. She was tempted to open it, but she put it back. Casey
told her that he was working on a big surprise for her, and he thought
that she'd like it. While Sara was pestering Casey about her surprise,
Meg arrived Casey told Meg that the box was a gift to show her how important
she is to him. The box was full of chocolate covered strawberries. Casey
told Sara the story of how Meg almost killed him with strawberry muffins.
It turned out that the surprise was that he'll be coming to Thanksgiving
dinner at Ben and Meg's house with the Cummingses. When Casey told Meg
that she was welcome day or night, Sara cursed Maria for making Meg continually
run to Casey. She said that they needed wine for the picnic, and left
before the other two could stop her. Casey told Meg that he bought the
strawberries for her to share with Ben, and so that they could remember
that they have what most people only dream about. Maria told Pete that
she's the woman that she wanted to hire him to investigate. Pete had doubts
and asked why she couldn't ask Ben or Ricardo, but he finally accepted
the assignment. Maria told him that she had disappeared and was presumed
dead for five years, and then she showed up unexpectedly right after Ben
and Meg's wedding. She wanted to get her life back so that Ben and Meg
could have their lives back. Maria was elated when she returned home.
Ben told Maria that he has a surprise for Meg. When Sara was on her way
to buy the wine, Maria stopped her to ask where Casey's house is, because
she wanted make sure that Meg was all right. Sara told that she didn't
trust her. Ben had a dream about kissing Meg, who turned into a waterlogged
Maria who said, "If only you could have saved me, Ben." |

Finally starting to believe that Annie wasn't

Annie answered the phone, and the caller said that he knew Annie's secrets,
too. Caitlin assumed that Cole already knew the truth about Trey. When
Cole walked in while Caitlin was fretting, Annie told him that Caitlin

had decided to stay at Gregory's house. Caitlin was about to tell Cole

the eavesdropper must have been AJ. |

Vanessa's Baby

Vanessa and Gabi told Casey that Michael's
looking for him at the lifeguard headquarters. After Casey left, the two
women told Meg that Vanessa's pregnant. Vanessa asked Meg not to tell
anyone but close family and friends that she's pregnant. Michael told
Virginia that Vanessa's pregnant and they're going to get married as soon
as possible. Virginia was stunned that Michael thought that he's the father
of the baby. Michael told Casey that Vanessa's pregnant. Vanessa and Gabi
went on a baby book buying spree. Vanessa decided to ask Tyus for a recommendation
of an obstetrician. Virginia "accidentally" told Tyus that Vanessa's pregnant.
Virginia pretended to be surprised that he didn't know, and swore him
to secrecy. After she left, he remembered that he tested Michael himself,
and that he definitely is sterile. Tyus told Michael that he's writing
a report on his cure, and asked Michael to stop by and give him a sperm
sample so that he could cover the reversal of his sterility in his report.
Michael agreed to come by the lab and see Tyus later that day. Michael
and Vanessa decided to get married as soon as possible. |

Hank and Joan suggested that they host Thanksgiving

still married to Maria, Maria is part of her life. When Hank wouldn't
bend, he stormed out. When Meg realized that it was Joan's idea to have
dinner at their house, she apologized for overreacting and said that it
would be fine to have dinner at their house. Ben called the hotel where
he and Meg are going to be staying on Thanksgiving night, and asked the
manager to fill the room with white roses. Maria told Sara that she hasn't
done anything purposely to hurt Meg, and promised to give Ben and Meg
their lives back as soon as she gets her memory back, but Sara said that
wouldn't be the first time she's gone back on her word regarding Ben and
Meg, since she did, after all, promise not to move in with them. Maria
became upset when Sara accused her of faking her amnesia. Ben interrupted
their confrontation. Maria told Ben that if she'd known how many lives
she'd have interrupted by returning she would never have come back. Ben
asked Sara to leave Maria alone, and Sara responded that living with Maria
is ruining Meg's emotional well-being. Sara walks in on Casey tickling
Meg to get her to smile. Sara gets uncomfortable when Meg lists Casey
among her blessings. Ben walked in while Maria's fretting about her continuing
amnesia. He told her that he's glad that she's back. She called Pete's

Ben told Meg they were spending the day together -- in Santa Barbara -- so they could be alone. Meg thanked him, but Ben sensed something was wrong. She admitted she had an argument with her father. Ben suggested they stop by the Cummings house on the way to Santa Barbara. Maria overheard Ben mention that Meg's fight with her father was about Maria. Later, Maria left another message for Pete Valente. Carmen brought Maria's favorite dishes, even though Gabi was making Thanksgiving dinner. Ricardo accused Carmen of not accepting Gabi, but Carmen insisted she only did it for Maria. Maria arrived, and Gabi took her into the kitchen, avoiding yet another awkward moment with the Torres family. Maria was grateful, and swore she didn't want to see Meg get hurt. Carmen told Maria that Gabi would mean heartache for Ricardo. Later, she assured her daughter next year she would be with Ben. Casey and Sara shared a Thanksgiving smooch. Tim showed up with a bouquet of flowers -- a peace offering. Casey and Sara were unimpressed, as was Meg, who showed up with Ben. Tim left soon after. Meg wished her parents a happy Thanksgiving, and informed them she was going away for the weekend. Sara confessed she had confronted Maria. The sisters began to argue, as Ben and Hank started to go at it over Maria. Casey whistled everyone to attention, and urged them not to let this situation tear them apart. Everyone patched things up. Ben and Meg shared a romantic Thanksgiving in Santa Barbara |

Michael and Vanessa welcomed Jimmy and Virginia for Thanksgiving dinner. Ironically, Virginia lent Vanessa her turkey baster. (We were assured it was a brand new one, thankfully!) Meanwhile, Emily wore the emerald, but the chain broke. Bette, Emily and Sean joined the rest of the family. Caitlin got another phone call threatening to reveal the truth to Cole. Sara told Casey and Joan that she started the fight with Meg on Thanksgiving
by telling Meg that she made Maria cry. While Meg and Ben were talking
on the phone, Ben found that Maria had left a gardenia inside his briefcase
for him. Ben hung up with Meg and told Maria that she used to put a
gardenia in his briefcase every morning, and Maria explained that she
found the briefcase in the back of Ben's closet, and that leaving the
gardenia in it seemed like the right thing to do at the time. After
Ben left, Maria said that she had to convince them that she has her
entire memory back so that they'll let her give Ben a divorce. Meg told
Gregory that Maria moved in with them. Sara walked in on Maria telling
Pete that if Ben and Meg found out that she intends to fake her recovery,
they'll never forgive her. Maria tried unsuccessfully to convince Sara
that wasn't faking her amnesia. Meg walked in on Sara asking Maria why
she's lying to Ben and Meg. Meg realized that she left some important
papers at home and went to get them. While she was gone, Gregory told
Ben that he knew that Ben is still in love with Maria, and reminded
Ben that the decision he makes will affect both Meg and Maria. |

Virginia used the knowledge that her obstetrician falsified insurance
forms to give her and other women like her medical care, to blackmail
her obstetrician to be Vanessa's obstetrician and follow her directions.
When Tyus asked how Vanessa could have gotten pregnant, they told him
that they made love the day of the earthquake, and that once it turns
out that she's three months pregnant, it'll answer everyone's questions.
After Vanessa left to get some cider to toast her pregnancy with, Michael
told Tyus that it would be selfish of him to keep Tyus around just because
of his health problems, and he encouraged Tyus to go ahead and move
to Maryland. Virginia told Vanessa that she had an obstetrician to recommend.
