Meg & Ben's Wedding
Maria
|
Meg's wedding dress arrives, with a note saying that the lower part of the dress was ripped. Meg panics when she sees the dress, but Maria fixes it. Ben asks Annie if she recognizes the artist of the drawing, and she admits that Maria drew it. She claims that she brought the picture over because she thought that it would be an appropriate wedding present. Ben loses his temper and throws Annie out of the house. Ben gives Meg her pearl necklace. Carmen arrives and tells Hank and Joan that she needs to see Meg - immediately. Maria puts on the dress that Tim gave her and remembers that she was wearing a similar dress when she was drowning. At the moment Maria remembers drowning, Meg's necklace breaks. Hank, Joan and Carmen return to the house to find Ben and Meg picking up pearls. Carmen says that it is a sign that Meg and Ben's marriage isn't meant to be. |

Maria

Not knowing why she is there, Maria arrives at the Marina. Her drowning memories become stronger when she sees the Mariah. Maria literally bumps into Quint. When he blurts out that she's dead, she realizes that he recognizes her. When she doesn't recognize him, Quint panics and tells her that he'd go get someone who could help her. A worried Annie and Tim go to look for Maria. After Ben returns her home, Carmen vows that Ben and Meg won't get married, and pulls a gun from a drawer. Hank goes to get the pearls restrung. Meanwhile, Sara comforts her sister, telling her that she'll have the wedding of her dreams, and a marriage that will last her whole life. Sara opens the door to encourage air circulation, and Tim and Annie, who are lurking outside, hear Meg asking why they just couldn't let Maria stay dead. Annie blurts out that Maria's still alive and that Meg's going to have to live with the consequences. When it becomes obvious that Meg isn't aware that Maria really is alive, Tim thinks quickly and accuses Annie of trying to cause trouble when he brought her there to make peace. Tim and Annie leave to look for Maria elsewhere. Sara, Meg and Joan leave for the church. Tim and Annie argue about Maria's whereabouts. While they argue, an orderly says that he knows where "Dana" is. Ben is just about ready to leave for the church when Quint arrives saying that Maria is still alive. |

Ricardo/Gabi/Antonio
|
Ricardo tells Gabi that he's worried about Antonio's reluctance to spend time with him. Gabi reassures him Antonio will tell them when he's ready to. After Ricardo leaves to visit Carmen, Antonio arrives. When Gabi sticks herself with a pin, Antonio uses searching for a band-aid as an excuse to escape from her, which makes her realize that she's the one that Antonio has been avoiding. |

Despite his insistence that Maria's alive,
Ben doesn't believe Quint. However, eventually, Ben remembers how he had
seen Maria recently and finally agrees to go along with Quint, insisting
that he's going to marry Meg, no matter what. Annie pays the orderly off,
and he tells them that Maria's at the Marina. Vanessa gives Meg her something
old - an antique handkerchief. Gabi gives her something new - a pearl
bracelet to match her necklace. Hank and Meg share a tender father/daughter
moment, then it is Joan's turn to be alone with their daughter. Meg thanks
her mother for giving her the courage to go to Sunset Beach in the first
place. Sara breaks the news to Meg that Ben hadn't arrived at the church
yet. Ben starts to believe Quint when a passerby says that he saw a beautiful
woman with long brown hair get on the Mariah. However, when he sees Annie
and Tim on the Mariah, he decides that they must have hired a lookalike
to fool everyone into thinking that Maria was still alive. When he arrives
at the church, Ben dodges Casey's questions about his whereabouts. Meg
and Ben promise that they love each other more than anything else. Carmen
arrives, sits down, and takes the gun from her purse. As the bridesmaids
file in, the violin and harp play "Ave Maria." Maria arrives at the church
just after Hank and Meg walk up the aisle. |

Carmen arrives, saying that the signs were
clear that she had to come there, and Ricardo and Antonio tell her that
Maria's alive. Maria, who hasn't regained her memory, apologizes to Ben
for the awkwardness of their first meeting. He asks why she asked for
him, and she responds that she asked to see him to apologize for disrupting
his reception. Ben decides against telling Maria who she is. However,
she realizes that he recognizes her when he calls her by name. Maria asks
Ben if they were close, and he responds that they were very close. She
begs him to tell her how they know each other. When Meg asks why Annie
hates her, Annie says that Meg caused her to lose Ben and Maria both,
and now Meg will be the one to suffer. When she says this, Meg realizes
that Annie had known that Maria was alive. Annie denies it, but Meg remembers
all of the times that Annie had mentioned Maria recently. After Annie
leaves, Meg curls up in a fetal position on the floor crying. Casey comes

Sara suggests that maybe Maria has had her memory for a while and has been pretending to have amnesia, but Meg denies it, saying that Dana couldn't do anything like that. Sara then suggests that perhaps Maria could. Dr. Estrada says that Maria's condition may have been worsened by her unexpected contact with people from her past. Just as Ben is about to tell Maria the truth, Dr. Estrada and Tyus enter the room. Ben leaves to check on Meg. Alone in the room together, Maria demands that Dr. Estrada tell her what's going on. Dr. Estrada says that no one can give her her memory back, she has to remember who she is on her own. She offers to introduce her to other people who know her, in hopes that one of them will strike a familiar chord. Dr. Estrada asks the Torreses not to tell Maria how they know her. Dr. Estrada introduces Maria to her family, who are overwhelmed by seeing her. She doesn't remember any of them. Carmen breaks her word and tells Maria that she's her mother. After Antonio and Ricardo remove their mother from the room, Maria worries about whether she will ever remember anything when she couldn't remember her own mother. Maria realizes that the only person she trusts is Meg, and asks to see her. When Gregory overhears Annie blaming Tim for her inability to see Maria, he says that he knows that she had something to do with Maria's sudden appearance, but Annie denies it. When Meg enters the room, Maria says that she trusts Meg, and asks her what everyone's keeping from her. |

Cole then realizes that Lance Hadjes is an alias. When Leo arrives for
dinner, he sees the map of France that Cole had been looking at, and remarks
that St. Etienne is one of AJ's favorite places. Later, while Cole is
picking up Trey's blocks, he realizes that Lance Hadjes is an anagram
for AJ Deschanel. Olivia finds the picture of the Madonna and realizes
that the ruby at the top of the crown was on the necklace that AJ tried

Meg tells Maria that she wants Dr. Estrada's approval before telling
her about her connection to Ben, and Maria responds that the idea of
remembering is less frightening if a wonderful man like Ben was a part
of her life. She asks Meg to reassure her that she, Maria and Ben will
all be friends when she regains her memory. Ben tells Annie, and all
of the other witnesses, that when he married Meg, he never meant anything
more than his wedding vows - ever. Annie presses Ben to admit that he
would never have looked at Meg twice if he'd known that Maria was alive.
When Dr. Estrada says that Ben and Meg are staying in town to help her
regain her memories, Maria is touched that they care that much. Ben
tells Meg that while he's not sure if they're married, he'll never stop

gift if she wouldn't accept his. He tells Caitlin that he had tried to
give Olivia a small token, and Olivia says that it was hardly a small
token. Finally, AJ offers to take them to his room and let Caitlin decide
if Olivia should have accepted it. Cole breaks into AJ's room, and is

Ben tells Meg that he considers them married,
and that no one is going to take that away from them. Hank and Joan are
in no mood to sign the papers for the Waffle Shop, but Sara convinces
them that Meg would be upset if she knew that the return of Maria caused
them to lose the Waffle Shop. Dr. Estrada tells the Torreses that she
isn't allowing Maria to have any visitors. When they protest, she asks
them to put themselves into Maria's place, and think about how upsetting
it would be to be surrounded by people they don't recognize, who claim
that they know them and want something from them that they can't give.
Dr. Estrada asks Ben to back her up about not letting anyone see Maria.
Ben hesitates, but Antonio surprises everyone by backing her up. He explains
to Ricardo and Carmen that they have to do what's best for Maria, not
what's best for them. Carmen and Ricardo reluctantly give in. When Maria
tells her that Meg is her best friend, Annie loses it and snaps that Meg
is no friend of hers. Maria wonders why Annie would tell her that Meg
isn't her friend, and Annie tells Maria the truth -- that she and Ben
were married. When Dr. Estrada is called away, Ben sneaks to Maria's room.
The revelation that she and Ben were married causes Maria to break down
and she dashes from the room - right into Ben's arms. Meg tells Tim that
she had figured out that he knew about Maria before yesterday. She goes
on to explain that she has figured out Tim's whole plan and demands that
he admit the truth. |

in anything that Tim had to say. Meg tries to explain to Tim that they
never would have worked out because he has too much emotional baggage
about growing up with alcoholic parents, and that he needs to learn
that you can't lie and cheat your way into being loved. He promises
that he will never lie to or cheat her again. When he finds out that
Annie told Maria that she was married to him, Ben tells her how she
"drowned" five years ago. Dr. Estrada chastises Ben for letting Maria
get upset, and he tells her that Annie had just told Maria that she
and Ben were married. Dr. Estrada chews out Annie, Ricardo and Ben for
pushing Maria. Finally, she decides that two of the thee of them could
go in. Ricardo and Ben won't even consider letting Annie be one of the
two. When they go in, she is gone and the window is open. Annie admits
that she knew that Maria was there before, and that Maria had gotten
off of hospital grounds before. In the parking lot, Maria is disoriented,
but two men offer her a ride. They pull to one side of the road and

wonders why they are there when Ben said he would be visiting her at Cedar

it. He says that he couldn't just forget about the kiss, and then he kisses
her. However, before they can get any closer, he sees Meg running away
from Ben and Maria, and chases after her. Meg *finally* admits that she
is jealous of Ben and Maria's past together. She tells Sara and Casey
that she heard Maria say that she loves Ben. They reassure Meg that she's
the love of Ben's life. Figuring that Ben had to have taken Maria back
to Cedar Oaks by then, she goes home. When Maria tells him how she felt
the first time she was in his house, Ben tells her that he built the house
for her, and that it hasn't changed very much since she lived there. He
mentions the studio, and she says that she wants to go up there in hopes
of remembering something else, so he takes her up there. Maria finds a

As Cole arrives, he overhears Bernie and

Cole and Francesca disarm the pair and threaten to call the police if
Bernie and Hillary come around again. Francesca decides that this has

loved him - even when she married Phillip. She wanted Cole to help her
because she had thought that they would get back together, and now that
she sees that she was wrong, and that the more intense things get with
Bernie and Hillary, the more at risk Cole will be, she has decided that
she can't risk that. AJ tells Olivia that since she refused it, he has
decided to sell the necklace. Later, Gregory tells AJ that their insurance
won't cover all of the earthquake damage to the resort, and that the shareholders
will be responsible to pay for the excess. He offers to cover AJ's share
of the repairs in exchange for the necklace. When she arrived for dinner,
AJ tells Olivia that he sold the necklace. When they were alone in the

Sean, Emily and Leo found Amy asleep in
one of the booths at the Deep. They wake her up, and she screams "No,
Daddy! Stay away from me!" Sean calms her down and tells her that she
looks like she needs some rest, but she says that she's not going home,
because she went home last night, and when she heard her father chanting,
she got scared and bolted. Emily invites Amy over to work on their term
papers that night, and Amy realizes that her term paper is still at home.
Sean, Leo and Emily agree to go to Amy's house with her to pick up her
paper. Cole shows Francesca the picture of the Madonna and asks when she
was going to tell him that there were also seven diamonds on the statue.
She answers that that the reason she wouldn't part with the bracelet was
because the seven diamonds are hidden among the diamonds on the bracelet.
She told Cole that, despite his misgivings, they need to steal the necklace
that night. Olivia calls the police department and tells them that she
has information about a robbery that was going to take place that night.

Maria sees her self-portrait and says that
the fact that she painted her self-portrait faceless is ironic because
the face of that painting is as blank as her memory is. Meg tells Ben
that she had overheard Maria saying that she loved him. He explains that
Maria had just had a flash of memory, and that she wasn't saying that
she loved him at the time. When Meg asks Ben what he would have done if
she'd said that she loved him at the time, he replies that he chose Meg
and that he's not going to change his mind. Meg tells Ben that the only
way they could be free of Maria will be if they can help her remember,
so Ben says that he wants to give Maria's personal effects to her, in
hopes that they could trigger her memories. When Ben brings the box downstairs,
Meg offers to take it to Maria. Maria finds her wedding dress. |

Assuming that Gregory is setting him up, Cole told Francesca that he
plans to steal the necklace that night and that in order to protect
her, he is going to do it by himself. However, Francesca decides to
sneak into the party in a nun's costume. While Annie is admiring herself
wearing the necklace, it turns into a snake. She unwraps the snake and
throws it onto the floor, where it turns back into the necklace again.
After Annie and Caitlin have another confrontation, Caitlin tells Cole
that she plans to wear the necklace to the party. Bernie tells Gregory
that in the wrong hands, the rubies can be very dangerous. He then offers
to buy the necklace from Gregory, and tells him that if he won't sell
it, he would live to regret it. When Annie comes to visit Gregory, Bernie
corners her and demands the necklace. Annie tells Gregory that she was
accosted by a walking dead man who demanded her necklace. Gregory realizes
that she is talking about Bernie. She is surprised that he knows who
she was talking about and says that there was seriously wrong with him,
and that looking at him was like looking at evil. Amy tells the others
that her father hadn't been himself for a long time, and that she'd
rather fail her class than see him again. Sean is concerned about Amy,
but Leo warns him not to trust her. When they comment on how dark Bernie's
house is, Amy says that her father has been keeping things dark lately.
She gets the paper from Bernie's office, and just as they're about to
leave, Bernie returns home and they hear him scream. |
